Healthy Aroostook is a local coalition that collaborates with community partners to make Central and Southern Aroostook a healthier place to live and work. Much of our work is through education and awareness as well as policy and environmental change in five areas: physical activity, nutrition, tobacco, substance abuse, and chronic disease.
We are one of 28 Healthy Maine Partnerships funded through the Fund for a Healthy Maine, a grant from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a division of the Department of the Maine Health and Human Services. We also receive funding and support from the Maine Office of Substance Abuse. Healthy Aroostook is hosted by Aroostook County Action Program and has a subcontract with Vital Pathways. We also partner with MSAD #1 and MSAD #29.
